Eligibility:
- Must be a senior at Miller School District.
- Must be attending a post-secondary institution (college, university, trade school, or technical school) in the upcoming academic year.
- Must submit a completed application, including an essay, by the deadline.
Essay Requirement:
Submit a 500–750 word essay on one of the following topics:
- Protecting Free Speech on Campus and Individual Liberty: Reflect on the importance of free speech for high school and college students in today’s climate, including recent efforts to limit government overreach in regulating online content, and explain how these principles of limited government have shaped your goals for the future.
- Limited Government and Youth Entrepreneurship: Explore how reducing government regulations can open doors for young entrepreneurs and innovators, and share how your own experiences with initiative (such as a school project, part-time job, or extracurricular activity) have shown you the value of individual freedom in pursuing success.
- Faith, Family, and Navigating Today’s Challenges: Discuss how your family and/or faith have helped you stay grounded amid rapid cultural and technological changes (such as social media and AI), and how these values prepare you to uphold individual freedom and personal responsibility in college and beyond.
- The American Dream for Generation Z: Describe what the American Dream means to you as a high school student in 2026, including how recent policies promoting economic growth and opportunity can help young people start businesses or pursue careers, and outline how you intend to achieve your goals through self-reliance and community involvement.
Selection Criteria:
- Essay quality, originality, and alignment with the given themes.
- Demonstrated commitment to hard work, leadership, and community involvement.
- Academic effort and career aspirations.
Notification of Award:
The scholarship recipient will be notified by May 15th
